Leaving the rumors behind, here is a list with the official gameplay details for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, game announced by Ubioft this week, during a live session on Twitch and Youtube. The source is an official article about Ghost Recon Breakpoint, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment on PlayStation’s EU blog.
The environment and its impact on the gameplay. The terrain, the slopes, the wet areas are fatiguing and they can injure you. This is the main gameplay element that is going to change the way you approach situations. But it’s not only something you’re going to suffer, it’s also something you’re going to use. The new feature called prone camo will allow you to cover your body with the mud and dirt, which helps you hide from enemies.
Also, with the new injury system, when your Ghost takes damage and become injured, this wounds will slow you down and reduce your combat effectiveness requiring additional time and resources to heal your Ghost back up to peak fighting condition.
The game map is “significantly bigger” than Wildlands. One of the biggest Wildlands problems was the repetition of the missions. After a while, when you finish a couple of regions, you’ll get to do the same things over and over again. Investigate a certain captain, infiltrate in some base, kill the head of the region. And I don’t want to go on side missions subject because it is even worst.
Now, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is like fresh air on a hot summer for all Wildlands users that are tired of waiting for new operations. And I am not even warming up to talk also about the PVP. But going back to the game map, from a PR/marketing point of view, and I’m only guessing this!, significantly bigger might mean something like 30-40% bigger. I think that if it was at least close to 50% they have had use of that info in the list of the communication campaign attributes.
Injured teammates can be picked up and carried to safety. This is a nice feature and I really hope it will be implemented in Ghost Recon Breakpoint PVP too. There are many times when you might die in the open. Smoke is a solution and Guerilla class can deliver it, but a new one that Breakpoint is coming with is the possibility to carry your teammate to safety and revive tehem! Once again. I REALLY hope it will be implemented also in the game’s PVP.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be launched simultaneously in solo, co-op, and PvP modes. Everything you do in all three modes is going to improve your character, and this new capability of playing all three modes from day one will improve your skills, your customisation, your gear, and your weapons from the very begining.
Here are also some photos, you might want to use them as wallpapers. Nah, don’t mention it. 😛
